VILLA PARK— DuPage County residents will have several chances to attend free, informative fraud prevention workshops next week.

State Senator Tom Cullerton (D-Villa Park) is partnering with the Attorney General’s Office to offer Silver Beat workshops in Villa Park, Bloomingdale and Bartlett on Tuesday, Aug. 14.

Cullerton is encouraging area residents to join him to learn how to prevent identity theft, check credit reports and file consumer fraud complaints.

“Protecting residents is our priority. These seminars offer an opportunity to learn how to identify and fight fraud,” Cullerton said. “We are working together to give area seniors educational resources to combat scams specifically targeting seniors.”

JOBFAIR2018VILLA PARK – State Senator Tom Cullerton (D-Villa Park), local chambers of commerce and the Illinois Department of Employment Security will host a job fair from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22 at the Odeum in Villa Park.

Illinois businesses are searching for qualified candidates, accepting resumes and giving on-the-spot interviews.

Cullerton is recruiting Illinois employers to participate in his sixth annual job fair. 

“The goal of this event is to connect local employers who are looking to hire right now with DuPage County residents,” Cullerton said. “The key to growing our economy is putting people to work. If you know someone looking for a job or a career change please urge them to take advantage of this opportunity. “

Veterans seeking jobs will be admitted at 10 a.m. before the event begins for the general public.

The event is free and open to the public.

Dabrowski from 6 -7 p.m. Monday, July 30 at the Bloomingdale Township “Michael A. Miliotti” Senior Center (6N050 Rosedale Ave., Bloomingdale).

Property tax experts will be present to help homeowners lower their tax bills.

“This free seminar is an informative event that can help you find extra savings in your property tax bills,” Cullerton said.

Residents of Bloomingdale Township should bring:

•    Appraisal (if done in the last 1.5 years)
•    Closing statement (if the home was purchased in the last year)
•    Property tax bill
•    Valid state ID or driver’s license

This seminar is part of a series of property tax seminars hosted by Cullerton this summer.
