VILLA PARK- State Senator Tom Cullerton (D-Villa Park) is kicking off a series of extended office hours in his Villa Park Office on Thursday, February 2 to provide a convenient way for busy, working families to share their concerns and receive state assistance.

“Take a second on your way home to drop by our Villa Park office,” Cullerton said. “We have various resources available to assist you with a variety of programs such as state benefits for veterans, internet safety tips and children identification cards.”

Area residents are invited to share concerns and receive assistance on issues ranging from veterans services to health care concerns.

Time: extended office hours are from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. (Traditional office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday).  

Location: Villa Park District Office (338 South Ardmore Ave., Villa Park).

Date: Tuesdays and Thursdays starting February 2 until June 1, 2017

State and local programs will be on hand to give out information and answer questions.

The event is open to the public and the press.

Some services available:

Representatives from the Illinois State Treasurer’s I-Cash Program will be on hand to connect residents with unclaimed assets.

Receive information on RTA free ride and reduced fare cards, as well as other programs from the RTA.

Walgreens will be present to provide screenings and health care information.

tc silver beat bloomingdaleVILLA PARK – State Senator Tom Cullerton (D-Villa Park) will host a Silver Beat seminars on Wednesday, Aug. 17 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Bloomingdale Park District, 172 Circle Ave., to provide senior citizens with resources to prevent fraud.

“Protecting seniors is a top priority. These seminars offer them an opportunity to learn how to protect themselves from fraud,” Cullerton said.  

This is a continuation of the series of events Tom Cullerton has been hosting to make seniors aware of what resources are available to them. If you missed out on the seminars provided on August 10 we urge you to join us for this one.

The seminars are offered by Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s office. Her staff will provide information about protecting senior citizens and their families from financial scams and health care fraud.

ShredDayVILLA PARK – State Senator Tom Cullerton (D-Villa Park) will host a document shredding event on Saturday, August 20 at the Village of Glendale Heights, 300 Civic Center Plaza.

“With the day to day lives everyone leads, sometimes old and unnecessary documents pile up and many have no way to safely get rid of them,” Cullerton said. “This is an opportunity for the community to safely and easily dispose of their unneeded documents.”

Documents will be accepted for shredding from 10:00 a.m. to Noon.

The event will also provide an opportunity to properly dispose of unused, unwanted or expired medication. Residents will also be able to turn in old cell phones and chargers to be donated to Cell Phone for soldiers.
