Senator Tom Cullerton (D-Villa Park) met with students from the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy on Wednesday, Feb. 20.IMSA

Every year, hundreds of sophomores at the Illinois Math and Science Academy take part in the Leadership Education and Development program. On Wednesday, Senator Tom Cullerton met with these leaders of tomorrow.

“This is a beautiful institution and a great opportunity for the students,” Cullerton said.

LEAD is taught by IMSA professors and upperclassmen to discuss different leadership theories. Cullerton was invited to discuss political leadership for EnACT, the program’s political portion. Afterward, Cullerton had the opportunity to speak to the students about education funding and other legislative issues.

“I had a great time at this event. The students that attended are wise beyond their years. I look forward to working with them in the future.”
