SPRINGFIELD- State Senator Tom Cullerton (D-Villa Park) will advance Senate Joint Resolution Constitutional Amendment 29 today, which would eliminate the Office of the Lieutenant Governor.
Eliminating the office of the Lt. Governor would save the state about $1.6 million a year.

BACKGROUND: The Senate Executive’s Subcommittee on Constitutional Amendments will convene today at 10 a.m. in Room 212, Capitol to consider 30 constitutional amendments.  

The amendments approved by the committee will be heard later today by the Senate’s full Executive Committee at 3:30 p.m. in Room 212, Capitol.
