The law expands the Young Adults Heroin Use Task Force’s study to include teens in sixth grade through high school. Currently the task force only focuses on students in high school.photo 4

State Senator Tom Cullerton (D-Villa Park) sponsored the plan in the Senate.

“This devastating drug is hurting younger and younger students. We need to accurately understand the scope of the heroin problem as we work to fix it,” Cullerton said.

The law, House Bill 4542, takes effect immediately.
