SPRINGFIELD – Governor Pat Quinn outlined his 2015 budget to lawmakers Wednesday. In it he called for extending the current 5 percent income tax rate that was set to expire next year.
State Senator Tom Cullerton (D-Villa Park) reacted to Quinn’s proposals.
“Cutting education, sacrificing veteran services and eliminating care for the developmentally disabled is unacceptable. We need to look for responsible alternatives, but I don’t think the only thing on the table should be a tax increase,” Cullerton said.
